washing up liquid

came home from work son had put washing up liquid in dishwasher suds everywhere, now will not fill . Can anyone tell me how to fix this please!!!

Make and model would be handy.
However, most likely cause is flooded base and anti flood activated.
Post up the make and model, may be able to help further.
Power off before working on any appliance.

Its a Hotpoint Aquarius DWF32.
I checked the base and I think your right, it is full of water!
What do I do? Help!

Put some towels on the floor at the rear of the machine, tilt the machine backwards a little and drain the water out of the base. Once it's drained it should work again.
Uplug from the mains before working on any appliance.

When the base is drained out it would be wise to leave it a couple of days to dry out before trying it, in case any electrical parts got wet.
