The wife wants a waste disposal unit in the new kitchen, are they worth the effort of fitting one and if so what size waste pipe do i use and does it empy into the the normal drain.
regards
I think they are worth fitting, but I think there are a lot of people that say they arnt. They connect up to standard kitchen waste, but should inter the drain system below the grid.
Personal advice would be to always provide the thing with its own dedicated waste and not share one with the main sink, or it'll probably stink.
We use ours about twice a year. I swear I've seen people in flats who put full nappies and old dog food down them on a daily basis.
Well there is a temptaion if you live in a flat, dont some people just throw it out of the window.
I have had waste disposal units for about 16 years (15yrs in one property & it was replaced once through corrosion) never had smells or any other problems & I use it most days.
