Using a vernier gauge I've established, the existing T junction has 43mm O/D pipes and the Mira waste pipe entry is 39.5mm so won't fit onto the pipe.

Does anyone know of a 90mm waste that fits 43mm pipes?

I'm not a plumber so someone else might advise differently, but in my experience solvent weld pipe tends to be slightly bigger than 40mm and push fit slightly smaller than 40mm.

It looks like your existing black pipe is solvent stuff and I'm guessing that small section you've pointed out on your picture is just an offcut of the same stuff.

I reckon if you buy some 40mm push fit pipe and replace that short black section with it, it will fit your new waste. The T junction is all compression and in my experience will clamp down onto the smaller diameter pipe without any issues. Though if the rubber seal has been stretched to 43mm for a long time, it could be worth slipping a new seal in while you're at it. I don't think you can buy them on their own but you could buy a compression fitting or coupler and take one of the seals out of it.

I've been to two plumbing trade outlets and they are baffled by the Mira waste connector I have. The 40mm connectors they have don't fit. One of the outlets reckon the Mira shower trays they sold come with a connection pipe so I'll have to contact Mira and inquire.

Having contacted Mira, the solution according to them is a reducer, a picture of which they've sent me. Its bizarre that the local trade plumbers don't stock them.
