hi, I've Lived in my house for almost a 6 months now and one thing that's been bothering me is the slow draining sink.

I've tried a few different chemicals from amazon and the usual drain unblocking products from the supermarket, nothing was working. I took the pipes apart from underneath the sink last week and didn't find any blockages, so decided to take a look outside and found a lot of waste pooling beside the pipe moving away from the house, I've tried to clear the water but after a few hours of using sink it just fills back up again, I thought about trying to point the pipe coming from the kitchen into the main waste pipe but obviously when the cover is over the unit this isn't possible.

Any ideas how to fix this please? Any help is appreciated.

P.S I'm not a plumber so go easy on me :)

Blocked gulley or main drain. Either drain rods or call a company/plumber in.

The part where the water is pooling is a contained unit though isn't it? I can't feel any holes, it seems like the only way for the water to get out is when it overflows into the main waste pipe?

you are right - the water overflows as you say . When that top is put back it forms a trap - an unusual type but - the problem is the pipe coming from the kitchen is too long , it dips under the water. Cut it to just below the black cover that it penetrates , replace the "lid" thing and try the sink. But first flush around with buckets of clean water . In case you have any of those chemicals lurking .

This actually makes perfect sense, thank you very much for your reply.

Will post back when I make modifications
