Hi all, hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

I'm after some help, when it comes to DIY I'm not the best so please keep that in mind haha.

I'm wanting to install this splitter so I can run both my washer and dishwasher on the same piping. The twin hose connector is 40mm, I'm assuming the other end is the same as won't fit. Is it as simple as just getting some 32mm piping to insert in the middle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks lads

Hi,

Yes, it would be as as simple as getting a piece of pipe to connect the two!

However, and I may be very wrong, the part you have appears to have a designed in 'air gap' at the end?
If so, It is meant to be mounted horizontally and directly into a standpipe trap.
A slow draining sink may have water streaming
through that gap, into the cupboard! (although, I suppose you could allways plug the hole! ;) )

...and even then, watch the orientation! If you mounted it as in your photo, although the channels are separate, there's still a chance that waste from the upper connector may find its way into the lower one!

Replacing what you have with something like this may be better?

Diy connections into existing waste pipes eventually lead to problems imho. Do the job properly and fit a stand pipe. That connection you have will need pipe and compression fittings. Standard items in the sheds.

you cant use that part on its side , there’s a vent hole in it that will let water out.
