Hi.

I currently have the below set up for my utility waste.

As you can see, it's leaking and not great. Is it possible to replace with something like:

or

Also as part of a kitchen remodelling I will require a new sink waste where there isn't currently a soil pipe, can I use one of the above and connect to the existing underground run of pipe without a below ground trap?

Thanks.

Excellent pics - what you have is a piece of Hepsleve drain pipe sticking up with a stub of pushfit waste cemented in - then pushfit fittings. You will have to adapt the hepsleve to plastic BUT the adapter goes over the pipe and you have no room. The push fit fitting is leaking , it can be replaced. Re: kitchen you could have a "mini soil pipe" known as a Stub Stack up a wall for the connection.

Thanks Nige.

I will probably dig down as it's only gravel so I can cut the pipe down, fit an clay to plastic adaptor then place one of those waste to soil fittings on top.

I would rather not have a sub stack as it's down a tight alley down the side of the hose and I don't want to make it any tighter. Is making a new one of these waste to soil connection within the regulations? I have tried to find out but they don't seem to say yes or no. I'm assuming as they sell the fitting it is allowed.........?

On the subject of sub stacks, the new kitchen will have an island with a sink and a dishwasher. I plan to use a sub stack and an air admittance valve. Does the sub stack need a rest bend or just a standard bend under ground?

Cheers.
