water coming up from shower drain

Hi was looking for some advise please .
Have got a flat on the third floor and
in the last week dirty brown water has started to come up out of the shower drain
to almost fill the tray. am guessing there is a blockage some where but was wondering where best to start

What else is happening when this occurs? Do you have anything else running?

washed the kids toys in the sink put them in the shower then dirty brown water come up into the shower

First thing I'd try (after cleaning out the shower trap) is a plunger. Could be a slight blockage which this will shift.

Let us know if this works and we can take if from there if needs be

Blocked soil stack, brown water is sewage. Flush the toilet and see the water rise in the shower tray.
