Water Damage Repairs

Hi,

We moved into a new property that underwent some water damage a while ago. How can we ensure that all damages bits are removed to avoid later issues?

Water had leaked from bathroom to neighboring bedroom. Site has had months to dry. Concrete floor and brick wall. We have removed molded carpet, underlay and skirting board; then bleached areas.

Is that enough?

Do we need to call anyone in to inspect?

Pipes are now fixed but bath and seals have been moved around and not adequately repaired. Again, is a reseal all that is required or is there more we can do to check everything is now OK?

Were any of the ceilings damaged, when plaster board gets wet it can start to go crumbly and fail when dried, so I would investigate that. Other than that providing the house has been allowed to dry and signs of mould spores removed and treated with diluted bleach then cleaned down, the only other thing to consider would be, water marks on wood and plaster, they may bleed through even after redecoration, so they are best sealed prior to any painting.
