Hi everyone, ok I know that I am probably going to get cussed for this. But wanted advice/opinion.

I just fitted a 9.5 kw electric shower. For ease I took the supply feeding the shower from the same pipe feeding the bathroom taps.

When I turn the shower on cold everything is fine, apart from cold water. As I turn up the heat the flow slows down.
Is it because it is a crap shower? Or because I have the feed from 15 mm pipes that feed the taps. Should I have checked the water pressure first?
If I should have can I test it just before it goes into the shower? Is there a push fit gauge I can use?

Sorry I know a lot of stupid questions!!
But thanks in advance.

The flow will slow down as the dial is turned towards the hotter setting.
Is the shower getting hot ?

Hi, yes it does get hotter. So is it just my shower. Is it worth putting in a 10.5 kw instead?
The electrics and mcb is all ok to take a 10.5kw. I have put 10mm cable with a 50amp rcd.

I am sure it is. When the bathroom got re fitted a few years ago the builder said that it was mains fed. And I only have the hot water coming from storage. That's why I decided to use the pipes feeding the taps. Instead of looking for the rising main.

I know I should have checked this all before, that's why I was thinking of doing a pressure test?? Is it worth it??
