£80Why do you think a Plumber will rip you off?
How much do you think it should cost?
Andy
Well, lets say the arrestors cost £25 each, so £50 for two. You want a plumber to travel to you, drain (part of) your system, fit two arrestors, refill and test the system for £30. Doesn't sound likely to me.
Turn the taps on and off more slowly? One is behind a bath and the other is going under the kitchen tap
Maybe a degree in metallurgy will help them solder?Or even diy it, it can't be that hard, what could go wrong??
Wouldn’t take more than an hour surely so £30 is reasonableWell, lets say the arrestors cost £25 each, so £50 for two. You want a plumber to travel to you, drain (part of) your system, fit two arrestors, refill and test the system for £30. Doesn't sound likely to me.
Perhaps you are supplying the arrestors? Even then I can't see it being less than £150 to fit them.
Why not get a few quotes?
Will you remove the bath panel and clear out under the sink to make the pipework accessible? One is behind a bath and the other is going under the kitchen tap
If it was a handyman that wouldn't have any insurance and wouldn't answer the phone when they blow off and flood the place, £30 may be at the lower end.Wouldn’t take more than an hour surely so £30 is reasonable
If you can find a qualified and insured plumber with a good reputation to work for £30 an hour including VAT (so £25/hour before VAT) then you are doing better than me. Around here I would expect to pay about £85/hour.Wouldn’t take more than an hour surely so £30 is reasonable

I got quoted £160 not including materials so £220 if you add on the water arresters. I would also expect that job to take more than an hour.
Sounds reasonable to me. If you think it's a rip off then just ask someone else to quote and see how they compare. It's always good to get more than one quote for a job.I got quoted £160 not including materials so £220 if you add on the water arresters. Rip off surely
