Hi,
I wonder if I could ask for some advice about next steps here. I've just had a new roof fitted, we think chimney flashing was the issue with water ingress.
The walls are stone and red brick, where the water stain appeared is the main 8 pot chimney stack on an exposed wall.
I know it'll take a while to dry out, I've a dehumidifer running and the room's kept warm.
I'd also like to insulate this wall potentially if I have to hack off the (probably lime) plaster and take it back to brick.
What would you advise? I'm confused by all the methods of putting up insulation boards and condensation issues.
Am I right in thinking I'd hack back, use limelite to render, then add insulated boards directly to the wall and then skim the boards?
Causing a thermal bridge and condensation would be my main concern here.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
