By process of elimination i am trying to identify the entry of this water ingress into my chimney
I have replaced the chimney flashing & also had a new chimney pot installed (which seems to have stopped water to inside my burner)
Any thoughts would be appreciated, my roofer has now reverted to suggesting painting the chimney with storm dry.
Will simple penetrating water into brick cause a water drip i am experiencing
Help please??

Does the new pot have a cowl, or is there defective pointing?

Haven't those water seals been discredited over the years because they trap moisture and dont allow the brick to breathe.

Blup

Yes we have a cowl but unsure about the pointing, i’ll need for my roofer to double check this

He has just asked me if i have a damp course (which i am unsure about as i am away from home) is this a valid question?
