Hi,

I am in the process of getting my water main renewed into the property.
The waterboard are going to renew with a 35mm pipe from the main up to my external stopcock.. Then my plumber is going to use a 25mm pipe from the external stopcock to the internal one.

I was under the impression that the 25mm was the internal bore but it is the external diameter so the internal bore is about 18mm.

I asked my plumber if it would not be better to use 32mm (25mm internal) & he told me that would be overkill. The threads i have seen on here suggest a 25mm internal bore is the way to go.

Property is a 3 bed 1 bath at the moment but will end up as a 4 bed 1 shower room 2 bathroom in the future.

Any comments appreciated as work begins next week.

Regards,

Sokari

Why not continue with 32mm? It's still very cheap and the major part of the cost (digging the trench) is the same either way. It won't do any harm at all and might make a significant difference to the flow rates available, depending on the mains pressure.
