Hi everyone

Before we bought our house, we rented, and while we were renting, the kitchen was changed by the housing association we rented from. Below is some work on the plumbing that was done by the housing association a few months prior to us buying the house.

That speedfit elbow is coming direct off the mains water into the house before the stop cock. To me, this doesn't strike me as being a great idea, I'd rather see copper. I've had bad luck with leaking speedfit elbows on copper elsewhere in the house and I can see the whole lot popping during the night lol.

Am I being massively paranoid, or should I swap the thing for copper as soon as possible?

Copper would of been just as easy for them to fit as the pushfit elbow and look alot better.
Pushfits work ok if installed properly in the first place.

Take it they don't carry holesaws either.

They had a pet beaver

The plastic stuff doesn't fill me with confidence, I had one break on me, with what I thought was minimal persuasion....hope that was just a combination of a faulty/weak seal and me being clumsy, rather than a sign of things to come.

Have just replaced the entire kitchen floor with WBP plywood, replacing horrible tongue and groove chipboard (mostly swolen/rotten), while I know it's much better quality stuff, I still dont want it under a foot of water one morning lol

(edit) btw, I will be replacing that cabinet, it's a bit cacky generally.
