Hi, my water meter has a very small leak before the meter, it’s in the driveway, I’m hoping that it can be replaced without digging out, the fittings look to be inside the white column tube, it was fitted in 2007 and is all plastic,

Anyone know how these are changed ?

If it is before the meter then you should contact your water supply company

Yep already sent them an email today, my concern is how it will be changed as I don’t want my new driveway dug up

A customer recently went on holiday. They had a gas leak rather than a water leak.

The guys turned up, dug up much of the road. Knocked on the door to do a gas leak test in the property. I let them in, given that it was the customer who reported a smell of gas. They decided to run a liner in through the existing supply, then discovered that there was a hard 90 degree return. They knocked on the door and asked me to move the car off the drive. I told them that I cannot drive but gave them the car keys. The poor fellow had never driven an automatic. He eventually moved it down the drive. They removed sufficient numbers of block paving. Replaced them and reversersed the car back up the drive.

By the time they had finished, no one would have guessed that anyone had butchered their drive. A year later, I have not noticed any blocks having dropped.

Not sure the OP will be able to get the same guys in for their water meter though! :D

actually only 4 months a ago i had an issue with power under the drive, it had to be dug up, they ended up replacing the complete driveway at a cost of 8 k

so, does anyone know if these can be replaced just using the service hatch ?

No, they are obliged to leave it in same condition so nothing to be concerned about.
