Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with some advice. My builder has laid a new concrete floor. I've just noticed that he's set plastic water pipes into the concrete but I'm sure i've read somewhere that the regs specify that 'potable' water shouldn't be set in concrete floors. Is this right? If so can someone direct me towards the documentation. I've had a look at: http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/br/BR_PDF_AD_G_2010_V2.pdf but can't find anything.

Cheers

Potable water pipes can't just be buried in a wall or floor unless they are in a duct or tube that will allow their removal & protection

Plumbing must be properly installed and maintained to protect water quality, to ensure safety, ease of access for maintenance, detection of leakage, protection against damage or freezing etc.

Where in the water regs does it say pipe can't be burried? Or go on to mention removal and all the above you've stated.

Thanks agains for everyone's help. I've emailed the builder who's assured me it's fine. Is this going to cause problems down the line...do you think the building inspector will pick up on this when he comes in this week?

7.1 talks of fittings.

Is water pipe now a fitting?
