Hi

this morning i did the most stupid thing i have ever done  I blead the radiator in our daughters bedroom as it was cold (should of been done ages ago) and got what must of been a radiators worth of air out of it

well the pressure in the system went to 0 :( and so, i went to let some water back in the system  well i let some back in slowley got to where it should be 1.5ish.

went to turn the tap off turned it the wrong way  and blew the pop off valve and emptied the system outside over a non to bemused family cat :!: .

Will the valve reseat? or do i need to get a man out to check it?

Please help as the whole house is now going cold not just 1 room

Its a combi boiler not sure on what as i am now at work (avoiding a non to happy girlfriend)

The PRV (Pressure Relief Valve) will reseat itself okay.
However, when the PRV discharged itself, it shouldn't really discharge back to zero pressure.
Try to fill the system back up to around 1 - 1.5 bar.
If the PRV is leaking, you may be able to reseat the valve by opening and closing a couple of times.
If the PRV is still dripping, you will need a new PRV. This is not really a DIY job and you should call out a heating engineer.

Please remember, once you have filled the system, remove the filling loop (braided flexible pipe) to prevent similar problems.

Ohh errr the pressure is at 0 after the valve emptied.

There is a man booked in for tomorrow  to check the system out. my girlfriend will not put any water back into the system, till a man has come and checked it out, and will not let me have a go later (sensible girl)

Many Thanks all
