Water problem in the garden

I have a water problem on my driveway. I get water trapped at the bottom of the drive. It's making my drive stink and it's rotting my drive. The slabs on my drive are coming loose when I park the car up . I have just this last week removed the paving slabs and replaced it with soil and turf. I thought the water would soak through the soil, but it's just the same again as before. The turf is probably no good now, as it's sitting in a pool of water. Can I get some sort of filter or do anything else to get rid of this water pooling at the bottom of my drive? The water has no place to run and it sits all on one corner. Thanks
