Water softener cost and brands?

We live in a hard water area and suffer with lime scale so thinking about a water softener as about to have a new bathroom fitted.

We have a 3 bedroom house with 3 adults in it.

What do they cost and what brands are recommended (I know nothing about them).

Harvey's Dualflo is the one to go for. Typically about £1500 supplied and fitted

The Acqua Brevetti salt free systems work well if you only want to eliminate limescale. The do not soften the water though, but are ideal if you cannot accommodate a softener at the mains or are unable to separately pipe up the kitchen tap.

Do these fit on the incoming water main so it softens all water coming into the house?

And whats the difference between an AD10 and AD11
