Hi

I replaced some taps on the bath last night but even after turning off the stop cock to the cylinder, the one from the storage tank and the service valves feeding the storage and smaller vent tank. There was still some trickle of water coming from the pipes. I left all other taps in the house open and capped off the pipes I was servicing with JG Stop ends but when removed there was a large gush of water...Any tips?

It sounds like a bit of an air lock mate. Are you getting full flow at the taps?

sounds like a classic case of worn out stop taps the stop taps are letting by and that is why there was a build up of water behind the stop ends you fitted
the way we do any work like this is to use a bung in the tank outlet this saves having to wrestle knackered valves. and have a few towels available as well.
