Hi noticed a brown stain on front room ceiling and after looking in airing cupboard there appears to be a small water leak coming from the top of the water cylinder. Have attached pictures. What could be causing this ?

Leaking immersion heater joint , might knip up or drain and new seal.
I would suggest a new seal.

And get something to catch that water ASAP. If that chipboard soaks through then it could drop with the weight of that cylinder on top of it depending on where on the joists it's sitting.
