Have a 10 yr. old GE. On start, water runs into unit. Nothing else. You can hear the timer running, and the drying element heats up at end of cycle. Doesn't pump, doesn't drain. Any ideas???

Bud, Go to repairclinic.com for help. They have a forum like this to identify problems. Have not used the "help" section though. I had a leaky seal on my dishwasher. Bought the parts & a book (left handed threads on one assembly) and all is well. Right off the bat sounds like a motor or wiring problem. One motor does both functions. Open the feed breaker to it, pull off the bottom kick cover. There should be a schemetic of all the electrical circuits in a plastic bag glued to the other side of the kick panel. Look it over. Also at this time, you can look for loose connections near the motor. It's pretty tight under there. Good luck
