Hi,

I have recently replaced my WC syphon with a dual flush drop valve. The new piece of kit works fine, but it has now caused an unexpected issue with the draining of water from the pan.

When I took the old one off, as well as the syphon itself (diaphram type) there was an extra bit of kit on the bottom, with what looked like a small doughnut washer and the hole in the ceramic bowl was quite small, maybe 20mm.

Now this bit has not been replaced and when I flush the toilet the water level raises quite high and does not drain away very fast, leaving some of the waste still in the bowl. I never had this problem before and don't believe I have a blockage.

Do I have a different type of bowl and if so can I still get this 'extra' bit that was on the bottom of the old syphon.

Thanks

Sam

Having looked at a few books, my WC sounds like it needs a aspirator. Is this right

Sounds like you have a syphonic pan, did it used to fill up then suck down and raise to normal level?

If this is how it used to work then you have replaced with wrong type of syphon unit.

Yes, after much research, it seems that you are right. God, damn it. Thanks for your reply and advice, i will source a suitable replacement and get it sorted.
