But the common factor among all these prophesies is that they never quite get the date right. So many have come and gone and yet we are still here. The actual date will be somewhere around the year 5,000,000,000 AD - give or take a day or two.

My mother told me till the day she died, i quote; "the generation that saw the begining of the end will by no means have passed away before armageddon" furthermore the generation in question was born early 1900 the begining of the end being the WWW1, then my sister (also in the truth) started putting the fear of god into me with the same spiele, i tried telling her that generation was getting a bit thin on the ground to no avail, eventually she admits they were only saying that to save their loved ones, to which i replied does your god condone you lying then? the phone went quiet and she didn't speak to me for 6months.

Yes i think the human race is fast approaching meltdown, but i think nature will be the cause or another meteor strike or bird flu, the last major pandemic was 94yrs ago that wiped out millions.

the problem is -like MMGL- it's based on guesses and assumptions of what is happening now and extrapolated unhindered by progress into the future. matey boy suggests we are running out of oil and there will be no new finds. This is unlikely and as such makes the whole prediction rather worthless..

So, are we to assume the first trumpet was the shoes that narrowly missed George W Bush, or are you going to tell us what newsworthy event the Lord did to proclaim the first trumpet,, Or is this some sort of guessing game? What are the metaphorical, signs of the trumpets, so we can look out for these, before we tremble in fear of this vengeful god ??

Geologists all agree that a new major find is unlikely. The last major find was in the 1960s. Don't you think that if there were any they would have been found in the past fifty years? The easy oil (read cheap oil) has gone - and that is what matters. We need oil - but we need it cheap - expensive oil is of no use to us. So you see, it is your conclusion that is worthless.

The only way we will be doomed is if communist tree hugging, bleeding heart liberals litteraly starve us of oil, by allowing other oil consuming countries to exist.
There is plenty of oil in this world to keep us going - for all intents and purposes - indefinitely. All we need to do is nuke all the other countries who use oil, and invade the remaining countries who produce it.

Obviously though, this practical and sensible solution is somehow offensive to certain left leaning individuals. And their sanctimonious, imagine no possesions, fairytale, trotskyite rhetoric about peace and love will see us all colapse into an oil starved poverty and slow death, if allowed to prevail.
