We should have a jokes forum

Its difficult keeping track of the jokes on this forum. How do you all feel about having a forum for them?

I would rather see the heating and plumbing forum split.

It's certainly possible to setup something, like has been done with the word games. Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

The plumbing / central heating split, is something that was looked at some time ago and the consensus then was to keep it as one, but it is something we will review again and keep under review.

Many other sites have the jokes put together for a good reason.

Time and time again people repeat jokes on here if they could see each one easily then it may not happen.

You'll not get anything changed if you don't ask together.

If you have something you want changed then ask for support.

yep i agree too for a separate joke forum.

also perhaps you could also have an adults joke forum,where you would ask to be allowed in,so not to upset all and sundry and couldnt be veiwed by youngsters.

Nah I don't agree. I spend most of my time/post in the General Discussion section these days (I look in on the Combustion Chamber from time to time). I haven't even looked at, never mind posted in, the 'Word Games' section for months. Come to think of it, I've not been on the site for a month or two! When the word games were in the GD I would 'nip' in and out. I like the jokes being in the GD for the same reason. If I want to have a read I can, if not I move on. I think it should be compulsory to 'mark' a post as a Joke though.

I was NOT and am NOT against the word games getting moved. Obviously I was responsible for two of them. They were consistently at the top of the GD for months and that was something I never intended. I never imagined they'd be so well frequented/used. Jokes however come and go, they do not and will not 'stick' at the top. Leave it as it is.

As for the Plumbing & Heating section I can see the logic in having separate sections. However, as I have stated above, I make very little input in that section these days so some could very well tell me to 'keep my nose out'!

As requested, we have setup a sub-forum in the General Discussion forum as a 'Jokes archive'.

As a compromise between moving all joke topics immediately to the joke forum, they will be left to run their course until they drop off the first page of GD, when they'll be moved to the jokes archive.
