I am looking at getting a conservatory. I have had several quotes (it's a DIY one, supply only). Weatherglaze, based somewhere in Essex have given me a quote for about £1000 less than anyone else. The problem I have is that I have looked on www.companieshouse.co.uk and it appears that companies all of one address in Loughton, Essex, all called a variation of Weatherglaze (eg Weatherglaze Ltd, Weatherglaze windows Ltd etc) all dissolve within about 2 years of eachother, thus resulting in a void warranty.
What I would like to know please is:
1) Does it really matter if they go bankrupt, as what can go wrong with it, other than the building work (which we are doing ourselves) (call me ignorant, but this is the first house I have owned, so I don't know too much about windows etc).
2) Can anyone recommend a good, honest company? Screwfix's website has been down for a few days, as they are bombarded with orders. We have had a quote from Baltic Pine, but there is a lot of pre-treatment involved, and with winter looming, we would like the conservatory to be up with little hassle. We have also had a quote from Wickes'. The Argos conservatories look very good value.... any opinions?
Thank you, and sorry this is so long! I'm confused!
