Howdy - anyone got any brilliant ideas about how I can weatherproof my barn coversion? The walls are brick built to 4ft thereafter studwork/plasterboard with timber featherboarding. My first problem is that there is a gap between the first featherboard and the wall which lets in mice and wind - both annoying. My second problem is that where the the roof joists meet the top of the walls there is a ventilation gap sometimes up to 6 ins wide and several deep. (The house has, as you might have guessed, moved quite a lot). I'd like to stuff all these gaps with something wind-proof, environmentally sound but retaining the ventilation to some extent. I then need to rodent-proof it. Any advice very gratefully received!!

Sounds like there may be some construction details omitted. So a rectification is more desirable than a simple add-on.

A picture of the problem would help to identify the missing details.

Also some more detail perhaps: Is the conversion completed in all other aspects? How long since completion? Was it DIY or contractor?
(The house has, as you might have guessed, moved quite a lot).

Are the gaps limited to one or two walls? Can you be more specific about movement?
