Weathersealing external doors

Assuming this door opens inwards ... what stops it travelling too far when you close it if, by implication, you don't have any door-stop beadings?

A photo would be useful.

Then put some foam strip on the door-stop edge inside the door. If you've a problem with water coming under the door put a shallow step on the inside and paint or varnish it really well. Put a weather strip on the outside of the door at the bottom, extending it below the level of the step if you can.
Externally opening doors are a doddle to weather proof compared to ones that open inwards.
Please don't tell me next that the door and frame are aluminium!

Her's a pic of what I've got on my back door - it works fine. Yes, you do get water running down the cracks, but it runs outwards when it gets to the bottom The trick is to keep the yacht varnish in good condition, which, as you can see, I didn't for quite a while. :!:
Good luck with it.
