Website / notification bug?

I got an email notification saying that Thomas Keeney replied to my thread located at //www.diynot.com/diy/threads/w...-line-tiles-called.434423/page-2#post-3408621 but when I go there, there are no comments by such a person.

Its happened a few times over the months and I thought I was going crazy.

What gives?

It was actually a spam post that has been removed, but because the email notifications are instant you still get the email. Sorry about that.

But I clicked on the email notification within minutes of receiving it. How do you know it's a spam post and how can you react as quickly as you did?

We have a wide array of things going on to weed out spam, some stop it from ever being posted, some pick it up later. We also rely on people using the Report option to tell us any we've missed, in addition to this the moderators are browsing the forum regularly and spot things. Your's was definitely spam because the deleted post is logged and I can still see it.
