Hi my son has had lead work done to stop damp in his baby's room and his room. But it rained heavily the other day and damp got worse. On inspection in the loft when it rained my son said the front face of chimney had water marks running down the render on the chimney . Pics I've taken with a drone. Previous roofer not returning calls . The back of chimney gutter seems to have holes at each end so would the water go into roof or would there be a track diverting I can't see. The water tracks where on the other side in the loft though

I wonder about this hole letting water in? Needs investigating.

Think id treat the chimney bricks with cleaner then coat it with storm dry. Probably a job for the spring.
It looks ok apart from that

That hole is the same on the other side what should it be like in those areas?

Lead up and over tiles. No hole.
Although I'm not a roofer

OP,
Presumably, the leak(s) are, as above, from the obvious gaps - but there could be other possibilities?
The lead flashing is incorrectly installed - although the front apron might just about pass.
Whoever did the work had only half the idea eg. no way do you build a back gutter like that.
eg. the step flashing should be in individual soakers to each tile with a one-piece stepped cover flashing.
The key to back gutters is some simple carpentry prep work before fitting the back gutter, and how the roofing felt is carefully arranged.

FWIW: some of the pointing is not too clever, and the flaunching is entirely absent from the top of the stack.
These are items a roofer will suggest doing when working on a stack - you do it all as one job.

You won't get felt back to create a watertight seal. That has to be done from the outside

OP,
With reference to "pinching the back gutter apron" - a few things:
1. Back gutters dont have aprons they have cover flashing.
2. Is "pinching" meant to mean welts?
3. "pinching" or welting the cover flashing will do nothing to prevent leakage.

Hi Ree what do you think issue is please

OP,
I told you what the various issues are in my post #6 - to be certain of having a leak free stack area you should take care of all the issues I mentioned.
However, the main suspect is the back gutter - it needs taking apart & then re-building from the the rafters.
The sides of the stack need correct stepped cover flashing and soakers.

The key to back gutter work is prepping with basic carpentry & correct detailing of the felt.

Whilst up there, with access, I would want to improve that flaunching over the top of the chimney, as well as some of that point, on the upper levels.
