Wet kitchen worktop

So, the dishwasher has had an unusual leak - a plastic seal on the top had perished and as a result thrown water up on to the kitchen work surface from underneath.
Seems to be a laminated chipboard which has now swollen up - my question is will this weaken the surface once it's dried out (doesn't look damaged from the top) or should I look at replacing it (ie an insurance claim)

Wait and see, If it is laminated then I think it should be fine.

I would try not to claim unless you have to because they will only raise the price of your policy... :cry:
