Hi all,
I was wondering if you can give some constructive advice as we are very puzzled with something and need help getting our heads around it.
I have attached pictures relating to the problem.
We bought this house in April and we are making some major improvements to it. The wall in the pictures is an internal wall between the lounge and the kitchen. When we moved in it was covered with wallpaper on the side of the lounge. The same places where the patches are visible now were also causing problems, this was visible on the wallpaper- as if it was wet underneath and the glue under it was very sticky and felt fresh and smelt of damp. We stripped the walls to bare bricks on the same level as the patches. This was left to "breathe" for a few days. We then put plaster over it, bearing in mind this was quite a thick layer. In the meantime we had fitted the damp course, which has so far worked perfectly on other walls, including external. After a few days of having done all of that this is what we have now.. and we just have no idea what is causing it and how to get rid of it? Is it possible that the humidity levels have risen due to rainfalls and temperatures went down as well? We turned on the heating, can this cause perhaps to vaporise? On the right hand side of the patch there is a board as the door was moved by the previous owner. Does this matter? Can you s hed some light on this please as we don't know what to do?
Thanks

... I have read that if parts of wall have been fixed/ re-plastered like in our case, there are then different absorbency levels, which sort of makes sense, but how long it takes to sort itself out?

The best way is more ventilation, moisture need to be driven out of the room externally, open windows and get the air circulation flowing
