Hi guys, need a bit advice reg my tiled wet room floor. Had tiler come in and tile my floor with a Mcalpine drain fitted. About two months later the tile grout cracked and they began to move, surprise surprise tiler nowhere to be seen!!!!! I have lifted the tiles myself and found the floor underneath soaking! Just looking for advice on how to do the job correctly as I have read on prev posts about tanking which I know wasn't done the first time. I am a boiler engineer to trade so please be very detailed as I am new to this :D

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Usually tiles with waterproof grout are pretty good on their own if on a concrete floor.

If the floor is to be the shower base then the substrate should be given two coats of a grey latex waterproofing liquid before tiling.

Pass, told me it was Apoxi grout? the stuff they use on swimming pools etc. He just tiled directly onto the 22mm chipboard flooring, no ply or sealer was used by the looks of it.

thats not how to do a wetroom it must be fully tanked with example bal tanking or a membraine.
then tiled. you can't have a wetroom tiled on chipboard.

Any ideas where I can get this Bal stuff??? Is it just applied by brush then left to dry? once dry then tile onto it with waterproof grout? Whats the best brand of grout to get?
