camping this weekend, SW scotland proved to be rather wet!

Still managed to bar b in the evenings when it was dry but night and morning was just rain!

We had to put the tent down whilst still wet so it will need to come out again to dry off soon as possible.

Can anyone tell me if it is okay to wipe the outer surface of a tent to dry it off?
Today for instance, it did stop raining but tent still wet as low wind and no heat.

I wasnt sure if wiping it would effect the waterproofing of it?

It isnt a canvas one.

Move said tent, 2000 miles south, damp problem solved.

Fine to wipe them to help drying.......Just don`t touch the inside of wet canvas ones during rain...my scoutmaster taught me that ;)

You can wipe the tent, but it all must be completely dry before you pack it away. If you haven't got dry weather or a garage this means draping it over your furniture for a while!

Put it up in the garden. It might get wet, but will dry off when it stops raining, with no mildew or fold marks. It will also stretch to correct shape if you've pitched it neatly.
