We are about to build a wet-room in a garage conversion that we have done over the last 9 months or so.
My main concern is point loading on the floor (as it may be used for a disabled person in the future)
We were planning to use 2" mosaic marble or travertine (hoping that these will be pretty non slip & easier to make a neat job with the falls) we are also planning on putting in underfloor heating.
with the actual construction of the floor we have a pretty blank canvas as it is a concrete slab approx 9" below the surrounding floors, so my plan is to raise it with joists then plywood with whatever tray/ tanking system on top (I was originally thinking of the Marnox tray & boards)
Any advice would be much appreciated as to the best way/materials to construct the floor to avoid point loading
We where also planning on using the marmox tile backer boards for the walls unless anyone has any better alternatives.
PS we are also thinking of a wall hung toilet (if its suitable for a disabled person) to keep a totally clear floor for easier drainage.
THANKS in advance
