What are holes in soffits for? (Ed.)

maybe a daft question, but just moved into a bungalow. Was told by the surveyor that is didn't have cavity wall insulation - probate purchase so no info from there. Moved in and have holes (inch diameter) under the softs at regular intervals. I'm guessing this is from past cavity insulation. Can any one confirm? thank you for the help!

Cavity Wall insulation is usually pumped in via 25mm (ish) holes at varying heights on external Walls , when finished they usually use a Trowel type mastic , have a good look around the Walls and see if you can see them

another place to look is replacement Air bricks , they take the old ones out and put one can only be described as a 2ft long loo brush which is pushed around the air brick aperture to stop the infill from coming out , then replace or refit the Air brick
