Just curious as to what everyone's having. It's a shame this forum doesn't have a poll facility because I think it would be quite interesting.
We're trying goose this year, what're you having?

Don't know yet, I just eat what in front of me ;)

I give you a clue, normally loads of turkey sandwich afterward

Turkey, zzzz, zzzz.

If you've having a goose, get a few buckets to carry away the melted fat that pours out under the oven door.

And do plenty of stuffing and things, geese are big but mostly hollow.

lol so they give off a bit of fat do they? I'll get the missus to remove it with a straw then. ;)
Incidently, I have a nice blister on my finger where goose fat got me yesterday when doing roast spuds. :D

But DONT bin it whatever you do, it makes the best roast anything ever, particularly potatoes. And get a bigger goose than you think you'll need, you'll get a lot less from it than from an equivalent weight turkey. I just put a deposit on mine, the farmer will be slaughtering this week. Bootiful.

I was looking at a bottle of red wine on the web, its 130 squid and I wondered what it would be like and toyed with buying it for christmas dinner but unsure what Caroline would say, so at lunch today I said that I'd ordered it.......gulp! she looked at me and her eye's narrowed and she said ... 'you'd have to be some sort of idiot to do that would'nt you?' ...and I said 'well yes but I'm only kidding' ...and she said 'thats good' ...phew! that was a close shave.
I bet that wine taste good
but not that good.

You can get decent wine for less than a 5er. Lots of shops have good half price offers on wine. No need to spend £130  unless you're having it with caviar or something.

Turkey, but a bronze one, can't afford a goose, sniff ! Unfortunately I don't like Turkey, or indeed much christmas fayre. So I guess it'll have to be endured as usual :(

I texted my sister to see if she knows anyone that was supplying geese (she's got plenty of farmer type friends). She rang me back to say that she'd found me one but would I mind killing and plucking it. She got a polite "no". Like that was gonna happen! Anyway it's costing me £30. Knowing her, it'll probably end up being a swan or something.

Eddie! your starting to sound like the rest of us "miserable gits". :(

I know not good eh? We had beef last year, really expensive sirloin roast .... the cats ate it while our backs were turned. Nearly had roast cat instead :D

Aah, that explains why the reflective thought is so appealing....
