Hi,

I have a utility room.....3 externals walls which are a double row of brisks with cavity.

It's got a flat ceiling which is a 4 inch thick block of concrete with steer rebar.

Inside the utility room is a shower room, I want to get rid of the shower and move the wall over so it's just the toilet in there. Looking at the marks on the floor and at some neighbours houses thsi was the original layout.

The existing wall is not the original wall although it is built all the way up to the concrete ceiling.

From speaking to my surveyor and neighbours it seems like it's not actually a supporting wall. I was thinking I would build the new wall first and then take out the old one afterwards. What bricks should I be using? are breezeblocks ok or do I need something a bit heavier?

The other option is to put in an RSJ but I think that might be over the top. The room is about 6m x 3m.
