What can I do about this manhole (*inspection chamber)apart from moving it?

Have this abomination in the middle of patio, about a brick high from tile level.

Can I chisel off the surrounding concrete and fit a small round table or cover over, does concrete ring have any functional purpose?

Wooden decking over with access door ?

I assume lowering it may be expensive?

The concrete ring is probably the biscuit. Chamber likely concrete rings. Not too dificult to cut down with care, but is it your chamber or public? Ie does it serve othe properties@ if it does you should sttrictly be getting water co permission.

Lift the cover and have a proper look

Not sure how to identify, there is a brook at the bottom flowing alongside neighbouring houses. Does not look like any part can easily be cut off to reduce top height.

I posted another picture above. To me it looks like concrete at the top can be removed without consequences. Then it might also be possible to replace the orange section with something lower, depending on how it is secured to lower rings?

Update: looks like the topmost ring is plastic and I should be able to lower it myself, what tool do I need here to make a cut on the same level without taking the whole ring out?

Avoid all the industrial work by removing the loose rocks around the cover and replacing with decorative slate or gravel, then find a suitable planter to fit atop the cover and fill with a collection of flowers or a bush at your leisure.

A grinder with a cutting disc maybe? If it’s in soil where you are cutting, maybe drill a hole to start and use a jigsaw.
