What filler should I use for this hole above my window in the bathroom (ignore the mould, gonna clean it and repaint too)? The second picture shows the depth in the wall the window is located (it's an uninsulated cavity wall). The hole is pretty deep (an inch or so both outwards and upwards).
My main worry is that I don't want to accidentally bridge the cavity and create a damp problem (this might be a misunderstanding of how cavity walls work!) but I was thinking maybe expanding foam would be the best thing here?
I may well end up putting trim around the edge of the window to make it look neater anyway (TBC) but thought it would be good to make that airtight first.
