We have a basement floor that we need covering.
The existing floor is made up of 50mm screed on subsoil / MOT - we don't think there's any concrete slab.
The floor is well above the water table but occasionally we get water coming in around the floor perimeter when the sump pump fails.
The sump pump we have isn't connected to a floor gulley in the room but does pump out alot of water.
We were going to paint the concrete with bitumen based DPM, then lay a synthetic carpet over, but worried it won't stick and also worried there about condensation between the DPM and carpet.
Appreciate any ideas about what to do with treatment on this floor
We have zero left in the budget, and need it useable while we save up some cash for a professional job of tanking it or limecreting the floor.
Thanks
