I started to clear out a garage in a Victorian terrace today and have found large sheets placed on the floor to even it out. It’s about 7mm thick and hessian backed. It’s difficult to say what the surface is made of, possibly vinyl or more of a hardboard surface. I'm slightly concerned the internal material contains asbestos as this is quite crumbly but could easily be a type of plaster.
It’s slightly bendy but snaps under pressure. Has anyone come across this type of floor before, and thoughts on an asbestos risk?
Cheers
