My Zanussi kettle. I live in a very hard water area and even when making instant coffee I use a tea strainer to catch the flakes of limescale. The spout of the kettle has a filter mesh but that quickly gets blocked, making it pour badly. If I use it with the mesh removed it boils for ages before it shuts off.

When my wife was heavily pregnant, I used to occasionally sleep on the sofa in the extension -- the fridge was by far the most annoying appliance. I never knew something like that could make such a variety of loud and strange noises. It used to creak, whir, whine and even let out short, high-pitched screams.

Now things are back to normal, it's the TV, purely because of the absolute garbage on most channels.

Tin opener, I can never find one which can open my beer kit cans without going around a few times. Electric and hand operated same problem.
