What type of cladding is the triangle piece inside the red area? The wood is gone due to weathering and looking at getting it all replaced. Wondered if its an difficult job?
Chances are, if the shingles are rotted, the support battens behind will also be rotted so will need replacing.
As regards difficulty, it depends on your skillset and level of competence. A joiner would probably find it a piece of cake. A brickie/plasterer may struggle. A competent DIYer could probably cope with it given the time and patience.
Thanks, I am looking at replacing the whole thing, going black and white, looking for ideas on what to replace it with. Doesn't have to be wood shingles, but if I do then maybe white cedar as having black alum windows.
