It's leaking, so I'd need to replace it. I've had it off before and cleaned it inside, it has some sort of spring inside.

Any ideas what it is and where I can source a replacement?

Thanks

It is a 1/2" spring loaded safety valve. You can get one from any plumbers merchant.

It is an old style safety valve (not doing much by the look of it as it is well screwed down) one here about 3 items down.

Looks like it might be 1/2" hard to say in a photo, as I recall to set them up you unscrew till it leaks and screw back about 1/4 turn or so to set it, but they all seem to have such heavy springs that it means leaving it hanging on by less than a thread! I fact most are tightened a bit more if truth were told ;)
