Hi I need some replacement skirting I’m just wondering what type of skirting this is and what kind of wood it’s made out of, I’ve been searching all over but can’t find it I think it’s a type of ogee but not sure any help would be appreciated thank you
The upper one looks to be a modern torus. The lower white ones look like neither a torus nor an ogee profile, although a low level photo which shows the profile clearly would help. From your photos it looks like a compound moulding so I'd suggest looking at companies who specialise in traditional skirtings
I can now see 4 photos (was it three before???). Anyway the top one is pine (which is a timber, timber = wood) and definitely looks like a torus skirting:
whereas the other, the edge profile of which is visible in photo 2 (which for some reason I couldn't view last time) is now clearly an ogee with quirk.
You can get reversible skirting with both mouldings from many places, which might be why your torus has adhesive on it (because it was placed to the back). Getting an exact match might prove difficult
I remember trying to get some torus to match a customers...I went to 5 different merchants and blow me, none of them matched....I ended up ripping off the original and replacing the whole room
