What Laptop

I am after a 2nd hand laptop, i work away from home on the move so would like a laptop i can access the internet wirelesly for general browseing sending emails not for gaming or downloading music, windows xp would be ok, so i dont want to pay for top spec as i dont need it, just something reliable and up to the job i need it for.
Anyone with ideas such as brands to go for or not, and spec i need to look for.

Windows XP would be my preference

You do not state a budget, if you are looking low end there are some to be had for £200 mark such as Dell .

You may also be able to pick up a good one on ebay or try search for Dell refurbished

For portable use you should get one of the netbooks such as the Acer Aspire One, or the Asus EEE. (everyone's doing them now though)
Various configs available but getting one with an Atom processor and preloaded XP should do the job.

They come with maximum 10" screen size (not a problem if it's on your lap or right in front of you) but are much lighter and more portable than a standard laptop, and have increased battery life too.
