I have a small bathroom which is in need of a signifcant upgrade. The trouble is, the walls where the bath needs to go are tap end and one side brick, foot end straw board/strammit (sp?) board, but there's only 1690mm available for a bath.

Should I buy a 1700 and gouge a slot in the strammit wall to fit the bath in, or buy a shorter bath (e.g. 1650mm) and then figure some way of finishing each end? What would a professional fitter do?

Thanks for any advice

Go for the 1700. personally i would measure height it was going to sit at and cut into the brick neatly so that the bath was resting on that to give it extra support
