In the process of refurbishing a house. On the first floor there is a decent size cupboard which looks ideal to house a shower. The main bathroom is behind so hot, cold, and waste are close by. Wondering which type of cubicle i need to fit this space. The width is exactly 76cms and the length is approx 7 1/2 feet, so bit like a long corridor. Shower door would obviously have to open outwards from the front. Walls will be tiled on the three sides.

Seems like a reasonable plan.

If you're tiling on three sides, which is best, given the width, then you need only a door and frame. Something like this:

or this:

Thats exactly it. Thanks Softus. Now where can i get either of those, or something similar -cheap. House will be let out when its finished so i'm sure it will need replacing after a while.

Have tried the links now. Do you know where i can get something similar but alot cheaper.

If you intend letting the property I can only advise that in my experience showers are very high maintenance.

They are a very expensive to install and difficult to make water tight. The steam/condensation problems accelerate the deteriation of the rest of the bathroom. Black mould and water scale add to the problem, tiling grout looks dull and mouldy and you will probably end up ripping it all out again when tenants have eventually gone.

I know it sells the place to prospective tenants, but it just ain't worth it.

Also if you are trying to do it cheaply, which you can't, (tiling/grout/decent shower taps/glass doors/tanking/pipework/water pressure problems the list goes on) the tenants will probably moan because it is not a power shower............don't go there. :)

You are also trying to put it on the first floor, so purpose preformed aqua board will have to be laid on the floor to stop leaks, with waterproof tanking on top of that...........forget about being cheap.

This is going to sound unhelpful, but I only buy the good stuff. When people want to save money they buy the stuff and I fit it - that way there's no comeback on me when it looks crap, or is crap, or you can't get spare parts.

If I were in your position I'd visit local showrooms. It grieves me to say it, but you could worse than BNFNQ it.
