What size cable do I need?

I plan to wire a flood light direct to a plug (with 5amp fuse).

Part of the cable may be exposed to the sun

Would 2 core + earth 0.75 black flex cable be sufficient for this job or would I need something else?

@RandomGrinch oddly Screwfix sell the 1mm cable cheaper than the 0.75mm cable

I am assuming this is due to number of strands per core? 7 vs 43

Anyway, is it okay to use the 1mm cable which has 7 strands per core?

Yup, the cable should be fine. Although, if you have a TLC nearby, a cut-to-length cable will only be a couple of pounds...
